Oxwich Bay is backed by a combination of sand dunes, salt marsh, woodland and cliffs, themselves backed by the imposing Old Red Sandstone hill of Cefn Bryn - the backbone of Gower.

The largest beach on the Gower (not including Swansea Bay), almost three miles of sandy beach. Good Surfing beach, due to west facing. Very popular family beach in summer, very popular Surfing beach in the winter.

This must surely be one of the most beautiful bays in Britain. It has a wide mouth into which the massive form of Three Cliffs Rock juts from the eastern shore. This is an example of a natural arch, for there is a long, dripping tunnel through which one can walk quite easily at low tide.
