Swansea in Bloom Competition

Do you decorate your business with floral displays each year?  Would you like to see other businesses do the same?  Maybe you’re getting ‘green fingered’ for the first time this year.  If so, why not enter Swansea in Bloom 2004?  This annual competition is run by a voluntary organisation, in conjunction with the City and County of Swansea.  Now in its 12th year, it has been successful in encouraging many businesses, schools and residents to make Swansea a more attractive place to live, work and visit.

The competition is free to enter and application forms will be available from 1st May.  You don’t need to be an expert to enter, personal effort if far more important.  It is not even essential to have a garden - from hanging baskets to window boxes, there’s a category for everyone.  So why not join in the fun?

Winners will receive a delightful plaque to be displayed outside their property, which will be presented at a special ceremony later in the year.

For further information on the scheme, please contact Clare Powell on 01792 635490.

Chapel Street Studio

Chapel Street Studio is a family company established in 2002 and based in the heart of Mumbles.  At Chapel Street Studio, members of the public are able to decorate their own item of ceramics with special underglaze paints and then have it fired.  The finished item can be a mug to commemorate a holiday in Swansea or to give as a gift, or something more exciting  -  dinosaur, fairy or even a giant ceramic snail.

At present, they are based in 1 Chapel Street Mumbles, with their workshop at no.3 Chapel Street.  However, later this summer, they will be entirely based at no.3, which will keep the whole business under one roof, and will also allow them to offer enhanced refreshment facilities for aspiring artists seeking inspiration.

They have a wide range of source material to help you achieve your artistic ambitions, and what better way to spend an hour than planning your project whilst enjoying a coffee, a snack or a delicious fruit smoothie.

So why not go along yourselves or send your visitors along for for a fun afternoon.

Well Done Morgans!
